Job summary

Salford City Council's Strengthening Families programme is seeking a Practitioner to support vulnerable families across Salford and beyond using a trauma-informed, solution-focused approach. You will provide intensive, bespoke packages of support, helping parents develop children’s social and emotional skills and working in outreach and home settings as needed.

Role requires maintaining records, applying the Family Partnership Model, and occasional travel with flexible working hours to meet

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed practice knowledge and its application to families
• Excellent communication skills with diverse groups
• Empathy, patience and active listening in challenging circumstances
• Willingness to work outside standard hours as required
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with partner agencies

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive, bespoke packages of support to families
• Engage with parents to develop children’s social and emotional skills
• Maintain accurate records reflecting family progress and outcomes
• Apply the Family Partnership Model to assess and identify needs
• Travel within Salford and beyond to meet service needs and offer outreach support
