Job summary

The Mulberry Bush School in Standlake, Witney, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Deputy Head of Education & SENCo to lead SEN provision, develop policy, and guide EHCP processes while shaping the school’s therapeutic ethos.

You will work with teachers, therapists, families and external professionals to ensure safe, trauma-informed learning and staff development, delivering CPD and contributing to overall leadership. The role is full-time and on site with a strong safeguarding focus.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience leading SEN provision and EHCP processes.
• Knowledge of SEN law, safeguarding and therapeutic education.

Responsibilities

• Lead on SEN strategy and development planning for positive pupil outcomes.
• Develop, implement and review SEN, teaching, learning and assessment policies.
• Coordinate EHCP reviews, SEN reviews and interim reviews with statutory docs.
• Align EHCP outcomes with placement objectives and curriculum planning.
• Collaborate with therapists, local authorities and treatment teams.
• Build strong relationships with families, carers and stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in classroom SEN provision through evidence-informed practice.
• Develop and deliver CPD, including SEN-focused training for colleagues.
• Contribute to school leadership and day-to-day management.
• Promote the school’s therapeutic vision and ethos in all activities.
