Job summary

Hampshire County Council is hiring a Registered Manager for an Ofsted-regulated Children’s Home. You will lead the home, ensuring trauma-informed care for children aged 10–17, and work with a Deputy Manager and multi-agency professionals to deliver a safe, nurturing environment.

You will oversee operations, drive continuous improvement, manage budgets and personnel, and maintain high safeguarding and regulatory standards to help children achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare.
• Meet Ofsted registration requirements.
• Extensive management experience in residential care for vulnerable children.
• Demonstrate trauma-informed care knowledge.
• Ability to write reports, chair meetings and use IT systems effectively.
• Significant safeguarding experience with children who have experienced trauma.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the home in line with its Statement of Purpose and drive ongoing improvement.
• Drive quality and compliance as the Responsible Person under relevant legislation.
• Champion child-centred practice and ensure care plans are followed.
• Collaborate with families, professionals and external agencies to support positive outcomes.
• Develop and support staff through recruitment, training, supervision and performance management.
• Oversee budgets, staffing and equipment to ensure the home runs efficiently and sustainably.
