Transport and Warehouse Manager

Paying Up To £50,000 Per Year, Depending On Experience.

Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm.

Based in Central Birmingham.

We are working with a West Midlands-based UK Transport and Haulage organisation seeking an experienced Transport and Warehouse Manager.

The role involves overseeing daily Warehouse and Transport operations, managing a team of warehouse workers, transport planners, administrators, and a fleet of drivers, both permanent and agency.

The successful candidate must hold a Management CPC (National is acceptable as a minimum) and have comprehensive knowledge of Transport operations, ideally within a cross dock or pallet network environment. Prior management experience is essential.

Responsibilities of the Transport and Warehouse Manager

1. Manage daily operations of drivers, transport team, warehouse staff, and workshop/mechanics.
2. Implement processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency, including reporting, meeting deadlines, and KPIs.
3. Coach and train staff, including drivers, to ensure excellent customer service.
4. Oversee fleet and vehicle maintenance, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
5. Ensure compliance with all company and client expectations.
6. Act as the main contact for collections and deliveries via the traffic office team.
7. Plan effectively to maximize profit and minimize operational costs.

Requirements

1. In-depth knowledge of transport and warehouse operations, including compliance.
2. Management CPC (National is acceptable).
3. Experience within pallet network or cross dock operations.
4. Management experience within Transport.
5. Proficiency with transport-related software.
