Job summary

Bidfood UK is seeking a Transport Team Manager to lead our transport operations and people strategy. You will drive safety, performance, and service quality while coaching a high-performing team across shifts.

You will mentor staff, implement KPI targets, and ensure compliance with transport regulations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of transport professionals.
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the business.
• Ability to set and monitor KPIs and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop the transport team to reach full potential.
• Communicate key messages openly and at the right time.
• Manage recruitment, absence, performance, conduct, safety and service.
• Oversee commercial vehicle, cage and pallet handling.
• Ensure PPE, vehicle checks, MOTs/VOs, temperature checks and near-miss reporting.

As Transport Team Manager, you’ll work as part of a team responsible for managing the operations, compliance and most importantly… the people! You’ll really ‘get’ the value in recognising good work in the team and making sure they are motivated will be your priority! You’ll lead the team putting safety at the forefront and working towards shared goals of delivering the best service!

Some of the key parts of the role:

• Coaching the team to reach their full potential
• Communicating openly and consistently, delivering key messages to the team at the right time
• Managing recruitment, absence, performance conduct safety and service.
• Responsible for managing commercial vehicles, cages and pallets
• PPE, vehicle checks CV servicing MOT’s, VOR’s, temperature checks, near misses to name a few!
• Allocating work considering individual/team capability and legal driving hours to achieve targets
• Carrying out good quality investigations
• And no matter what you’re doing, you’ll always be promoting and managing all safety
