Job Description

About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Team Manager to join our team based in Lichfield.

Shift pattern: Rotating days Monday - Friday, between 06:00 - 14:00, 08:00 - 16:00, 14:00 - 22:00

How will you contribute?

• You will be responsible for a team of up to 100 Drivers and administrators, managing cost-effective daily transport plans.
• Oversee vehicle defects and repairs, ensuring thorough vehicle reports are created.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety measures for all employees on shift.
• Monitor Transport Utilisation Plans (TUPs), compliance, and handle administrative duties in line with transport legislation and company policies.
• Manage disciplinary actions, investigations, behavioral audits, and absence management.
• Maintain good customer and client engagement, liaising with your team and senior management to ensure smooth service operations and high-standard reporting.

What will you bring?

• Pre-existing management experience is advantageous; transport knowledge is a plus.
• An organized, hardworking individual capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to develop good working relationships at all levels within the Transport Team and with customers.
• Ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in PC use.
• Transport Management CPC (national and international) preferred.
