Job summary

Grafters Recruit Ltd is seeking a Transport Team Manager in the Daventry/Crick area to lead a team of drivers, vehicles and admin staff to ensure timely deliveries and high service levels for store networks.

The role covers day and night management with a 4-on-4-off planned in the near term, offering a competitive £36,254 per year with a 10% night uplift and on-site parking. The position is temp-to-perm with evolving shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Transport Management role.
• Experience supervising and managing a team.
• Strong IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support management of drivers, vehicles and admin staff to ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage driver resources when required.
• Motivate and guide direct reports and manage performance.
• Carry out driver pre- and de-briefs.
• Collaborate with Warehouse and Vehicle Maintenance to move loads and manage vehicle/trailer availability.

Transport Team Manager

Grafters Recruit are currently looking for Transport Team Managers to work for our client in the Daventry / Crick area on a temp - perm basis.

Key responsibilities

• Support the management of a team of drivers, vehicles and administration staff to deliver the timely dispatch of deliveries to our customers stores and provide a store network with a first-class service.
• Manage Driver resource, when business requires.
• Proactively motivate and guide all direct reports and manage performance when required.
• Carry out Driver pre-and de-briefs.
• Work collaboratively with the Warehouse Team and Vehicle Maintenance Unit in orchestrating the movement of loads and availability of vehicles and trailers.

Key Requirements

• Experience within Transport Management role
• Experience of supervising and managing a team
• High standard of administration and computer skills including Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint
• Adept at prioritising and organising workload, managing multiple and changing priorities concurrently
• Knowledge of computerised scheduling and driver management packages would be an advantage
• Team player

• Competitive salary of £36,254 per annum. Nights 23:00-06:00 10% added

• Currently - 5/7 shift but will be going to 4 on 4 off by end of November.
• Days 6am - 6pm / Nights 6pm - 6am.
