Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is recruiting a Transport Team Manager for the Crewe TJX operation. This full-time, permanent role runs 4 on 4 off from 18:00 to 06:00, leading Transport Coordinators and Drivers to deliver safe, compliant and high-performing transport operations.

You’ll manage day-to-day transport execution, engage drivers, support customer service, and uphold transport compliance while fostering a positive, high-performing culture on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Transport Coordinators and Drivers to ensure safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

• Act as primary point of contact for customer and stakeholders, provide timely updates.
• Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive, drivers hours, tachographs and related standards.
• Monitor KPIs and service levels, investigate incidents and drive efficiency.

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Transport Team Manager to support our TJX operation in Crewe. This is a full-time, permanent role, working 4 on 4 off from 18:00 to 06:00, where you'll lead a team of Transport Coordinators and Drivers, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing transport operations are delivered across your shift.

Playing a key role within the transport management team, you'll be responsible for operational delivery, driver engagement, customer service and transport compliance while helping to create a positive, high-performing culture across the site.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead, motivate and support a team of Transport Coordinators and Drivers, creating a positive culture focused on safety, accountability, engagement and performance
• Manage the day-to-day execution of transport operations, ensuring routes depart on time, resources are effectively allocated, and operational challenges are resolved quickly and efficiently
• Act as a key point of contact for the customer and internal stakeholders, providing timely updates, managing expectations and supporting the resolution of operational issues
• Ensure full compliance with Working Time Directive regulations, Drivers' Hours legislation, tachograph requirements and all transport-related operational standards
• Monitor service levels, transport KPIs and operational performance, investigating incidents and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance and customer satisfaction

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience within a transport, distribution or logistics environment, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity
• Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing drivers and operational teams within a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of transport legislation, compliance requirements and transport operational processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and effective in a time-critical operation
