Job Description

We are recruiting for a permanent Transport Team Leader to work in the operations at Primark Midlands covering Thrapston and Islip. As a Team Leader you will motivate, encourage, guide, and manage team members to meet KPI's and performance requirements.

• Shift Pattern working any 5 over 7 days.
• This will be predominantly a midshaft 10:00 – 18:00 however flexibility is required to cover days AM 06:00 – 14:00 and PM 14:00 – 22:00 Shifts.

How will you contribute?

• Daily running of the Transport operation.
• Ensuring completion of all administrative and legislative tasks required to maintain performance of the operation.
• Liaising with other departments to avoid delayed departures and/or deliveries.
• Clear communication to the relevant area, should there be operational delays.
• Ensuring operational security requirements are adhered to (e.g. vehicle keys, phones, fuel cards).
• Collation and input of statistical information for various reports.
• Engaging directly with customer service to provide updates in relation to deliveries.
• Management of tachograph records for allocated driver team.
• Promoting good driver behaviours utilising tools including Mix telematics for allocated driver team.
• Providing leadership and motivation for the admin team and driver team, including regular 121’s, career plan discussions and succession planning.
• Conducting investigations within a timely manner.
• Conducting accident investigations within a timely manner.
• Assisting with the management of vehicle defects through the VOR process.
• Actively involved in the recruitment, training, and coaching of all admin and driver colleagues.
• Management of the sickness absence process, including accurate record keeping and RTW interviews.
• Supporting the site with any ad hoc administrative tasks that are required.
• Working between both locations in the Midland Campus.

What will you bring?

• Attention to detail is key for this role as is the accuracy of information supplied.
• Experience within a transport/busy operational environment is desirable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as required.
• Excellent communicator at all levels.
• Understanding of drivers working time directive and EU regulations.
• A positive and flexible attitude to work being reliable and punctual.
• Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines and on your own initiative.
• Excellent computer skills are critical to this role specifically MS Office applications such as Word and Excel and knowledge of Distribution/Transport Systems would be advantageous.
