A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Transport Supervisor to join our Lutterworth-based Logistics team. The role involves supporting the transport management team in ensuring the smooth operation of the transport function in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
This includes ensuring all deliveries are made promptly and efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service. Additionally, responsibilities include vehicle maintenance in line with legal standards, managing drivers to comply with hours and working time regulations, and using recognized processes to ensure full compliance.
Other duties involve meeting health and safety obligations, providing a safe and legal working environment that exceeds quality standards, and maintaining the standards expected by the company. A comprehensive understanding of hub operations, task prioritization, decision-making, and composure under pressure are essential skills.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business knowledge within a logistics environment, experience in organizing vehicle maintenance schedules, and a good understanding of transport and network planning in a multi-drop setting. Qualifications such as Transport Operator Awareness, NVQ, CPC, Class 1 licence, and Class 1 shunting are highly desirable.
Flexibility in working hours and willingness to work additional hours when needed are required. The role also demands physical fitness due to walking, standing, lifting, or stretching tasks, including some heavy lifting. Good communication skills, basic numeracy and literacy, high levels of common sense, integrity, and honesty are essential.
