Job summary
GXO Logistics, Inc. seeks a Transport First Line Manager for our Haydock site on a full-time, permanent basis. You will lead day-to-day transport operations, manage GXO and agency staff across shifts, and ensure safety and compliance with DVSA policies.
The role blends hands-on operational tasks with project involvement and aims to build a motivated team where people feel supported and valued. Monday–Friday 10:00–18:00, with some peak-time night shift coverage as required.
Qualifications
- Experience leading teams in logistics/transportation.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety principles.
- Understanding of vehicle compliance and loading safety.
- Knowledge of transportation operations and safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving to manage challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations and manage GXO/agency staff across shifts.
- Ensure safety compliance and investigate incidents with HR/QHSE.
- Coordinate vehicle loading/unloading safely.
- Maintain compliance measures for DVSA and related systems.
- Support continuous improvement and project involvement.
