Job description

We are currently recruiting a Transport Supervisor for our site in Perth, to effectively manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfills the Customer Commitment, and achieves targets.

Key Tasks

1. Ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to Customers according to the Agreement.
2. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are checked, repaired, and maintained in line with manufacturers' recommendations and current legislation.
3. Ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s License are adhered to at all times.
4. Establish & maintain good Customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company.
5. Fully utilize the AS400 computer system, as appropriate.
6. Carry out duties as laid down in BS EN ISO 9001:2008 / 14001 Local Working Instructions and the Company Operations Manual, which may be updated from time to time.
7. Recruit staff in consultation with the Transport Manager and General Manager.
8. Provide ongoing training for all staff from the start of service and throughout their employment, regularly reviewing their training and development.
9. Ensure the welfare of all staff in the department.
10. Forward queries and keep managers, supervisors, colleagues informed as necessary.
11. Keep all costs to or below budget.
12. Keep accurate records where required.
13. Wear and enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks.
14. Enforce and carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety & COSHH requirements.
15. Enforce and comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment, following Company Procedures.
16. Keep the work area clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
17. Attend training courses as required.
18. Foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company.
19. Maintain confidentiality of Company and Customer business.
20. Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
