Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is recruiting for a Transport Supervisor based in Doncaster for a nationwide homeware & DIY retailer. The role is full-time, Tue–Sat, with weekend work and a competitive hourly rate of £12.45–£18.68.

Immediate starts are available and full training will help you apply transferable transport skills. You will lead the transport team, manage scheduling, checks, and continuous improvement while reporting to the CDC Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transport team and ensure duties are completed.
• Ensure on-time departures and manage exception reporting.
• Conduct licence checks for agency drivers and ensure O Licence compliance.
• Check driver paperwork and complete tachograph entries.
• Update delivery schedules and manage rota planning.
• Handle escalations and customer complaints.
• Mentor staff, monitor performance, and support development.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote company culture.

Transport Supervisor

Location: Doncaster

Pay Rate: £12.45 to £18.68 per hour

Shifts: Full-time | Tuesday to Saturday

Ignition Driver Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor, based with our client in Doncaster. Our client is a nationwide homeware & DIY retailer.

Full training will be provided for this role, but it is important that you can demonstrate previous experience in a similar role and show that you have transferable skills.

The Role

• Leading the Transport Team, ensuring all duties are undertaken:
  • Ensuring on‑time departure and exception reporting
  • Completing licence checks for agency drivers and ensuring compliance with O Licence Regulations
  • Checking driver paperwork
  • Completing tachograph entries
  • Updating delivery schedules
• Managing rota planning and ensuring staff absence is covered
• Dealing with escalations and customer complaints
• Managing the workforce with:
  • Performance & output
  • Disciplinary procedures
  • Mentoring & Engagement
  • Staff development

You will play a key role in ensuring continuous improvement and encouraging the company culture at all times.

You will be reporting to the CDC Manager and you must be IT confident.

Working Hours

The role is full‑time, with weekend working required as the depot operates Tuesday to Saturday. It is important that you are able to be flexible when it comes to working hours.
