Job Description: Are you passionate about transport and looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics company? We are currently seeking a Transport Supervisor to join our team at our customer site in Magor. This position will lead the day-to-day operations on behalf of the Operations Manager and involve all aspects of transport administration processes and coordination of the daily running of this busy contract, working alongside our customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on behalf of the Operations Manager with our customer to plan daily routes, optimising our UK-wide tramping fleet of drivers to ensure service and delivery meet customer expectations.
• Plan periodic maintenance inspections, ensuring the vehicle fleet remains compliant and legal concerning delivery planning requirements.
• Provide leadership on day-to-day transport issues, including dispatch, debrief, and work in progress with drivers.
• Collaborate closely with our customer to ensure smooth operation.
• Manage drivers daily, ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards across the operation with both people and customers. Ensure optimal resource use within the operation and plan ahead.
• Provide regular reports to the Operations Manager on customer-related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where appropriate.
• Monitor and audit Health and Safety standards.
• Respond to queries via email, phone, and face-to-face interactions.
• Assist in producing KPIs and daily statistics, driving required improvements locally with the team on behalf of the Operations Manager.
• Ensure all operational compliance planning aligns with company procedures.
• Provide direct assistance and support for breakdowns.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a transport environment, including knowledge of working time directives and EU driver's hours.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet daily deadlines.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
