Transport Shift Manager based Stoke on Trent

Grade: M
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Salary: £38,223
Shift patterns: 4-week rotation including weekend working (see below)
Location: Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to coordinate our daily logistics requirements. To succeed, you should have comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management practices and a strong understanding of transport procedures in a busy environment.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

• Supporting the Transport Manager to ensure a fully compliant operation, providing operational expertise, and maintaining efficient transport operations within budget to meet contract objectives and customer demands.
• Achieving targets, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining team morale, and adhering to compliance standards.
• Managing a team of 3 First Line Managers, overseeing work activities, and providing leadership, motivation, training, and development.
• Ensuring the shift operation delivers efficient, customer-focused service.
• Analyzing reports against KPIs and recommending actions for improvement.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, sharing ideas, and best practices.

• Computer literacy with logistics software, including Tachomaster and Microlise
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and train staff
• Flexibility to work a 4-week shift pattern
• Ensuring daily operations meet customer specifications
• A qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (preferred)
• Living locally to Stoke on Trent ST4 2TP
