Job summary

DHL is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to lead our daily transport operations in the UK. You will guide a dynamic team, drive performance against KPIs, and implement continuous improvement across the transport network.

The role requires frontline leadership, collaboration with unions, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• FLM/Shift Manager Transport experience is essential.
• Experience with Paragon is desirable.
• IT literate with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Able to lead from the front and coach others.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational performance and shift planning to meet KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement and embed change programmes.
• Support and develop First Line Management for high performance.
• Ensure SOPs, SSOW and policies are followed at all times.
• Achieve KPI targets for productivity, quality and cost with improvement plans.
• Build relationships with Trade Unions and other reps.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage operational performance, resource and workload planning on shift to achieve agreed KPI's on productivity, quality and cost
• Personally develop and drive continuous improvement activities and ensure that all change programmes are fully embedded.
• Support, develop and performance manage the First Line Management team to drive a high performance culture
• Ensure that SOP's, SSOW and company policies and processes are being adhered to at all times
• Achievement of KPI's on productivity, quality and cost providing commentary and improvement plans where KPI's are not achieved
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Trade Union or other colleague representation bodies

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• FLM/Shift Manager Transport Experience is essential
• Experience with Paragon
• IT Literate, With Microsoft Office Packages, Excel
• Can lead from the front, winning hearts and minds and providing coaching and mentorship
• Have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Aren't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in when needed
