Job Description

We are working with Bristol City Council to find a Transport Project Manager who will lead the delivery of innovative and impactful transport and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a driven and experienced professional passionate about making a difference through sustainable transport solutions.

Location: Bristol City Council

Setup: Hybrid – 2-3 days per week

Rate: £30.28/hour via umbrella inside IR35

Duration: Initial 12 months, with potential extension

Hours: Full-time position

Responsibilities include:

• Managing complex transport or infrastructure projects within the public sector or multidisciplinary environments
• Providing expert advice on transport planning, engineering, or related fields to senior stakeholders
• Engaging with stakeholders and communicating effectively across different audiences
• Managing project budgets, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on expenditure
• Leading and mentoring teams, coordinating consultants, and fostering a positive working culture
• Planning, coordinating, and delivering transport projects aligned with council policies and strategic objectives

Requirements:

• Experience in local government is required for initial shortlisting, with further considerations at the client’s discretion
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience in delivering high-value or high-profile transport or infrastructure projects
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage budgets and risks, and deliver projects on time and within financial constraints
