Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is looking for a Transport Planning Technician to join the Highway Development Management (HDM) Team at County Hall. You will manage the HDM MasterGov system, provide superuser guidance, and handle consultations, invoicing and performance reporting.

The role requires attention to detail, mapping software experience and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders. Flexible working options may be discussed.

• GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grades A–C or equivalent, or relevant demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and updating the HDM electronic system (MasterGov) for recording, responses and monitoring.
• Providing a superuser role for MasterGov including training manuals and user access management.
• Monitoring consultations and correspondence arriving through the HDM inbox.
• Providing administrative support including invoicing and reporting for performance data.
• Monitoring and reviewing planning consultations and ensuring information is entered onto electronic systems.

Salary: £29,550- £32,055 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Working Hours:37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planning Technician within the Highway Development Management (HDM) Team at Leicestershire County Council.

About the Role

As Transport Planning Technician within the HDM team, your responsibilities would include (but not be limited to):

• Maintaining and updating the HDM electronic system (currently MasterGov) for recording, providing and monitoring consultation responses.
• Providing a superuser role for MasterGov including developing appropriate training manuals, providing appropriate training, representing the team on the corporate working group, liaising with the system provider to maintain and develop the system and managing access rights to the system.
• Monitoring and managing consultations and correspondence arriving through the HDM generic inbox.
• Providing administrative support in the provision of the HDM system including processing invoices as appropriate and to provide reports giving management and performance data.
• Monitoring and reviewing consultations on planning applications and pre-application enquiries and ensuring appropriate information is input onto electronic systems to record and monitor progress.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

• GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grades A – C or equivalent, or relevant demonstrable experience.
• Use of MS Office programmes and use of mapping software. Experience of working in an office environment
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of information.
• Ability to work to tight timescales, agreed timescales and be able to manage your own workload.
• Ability to search and interrogate systems in order to extract relevant information and produce reports.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to problem solve and identify new and efficient ways of working.
