Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Transport Planning Technician to join the Highway Development Management (HDM) Team. You will maintain the MasterGov system, provide superuser support, and manage consultations and reporting while ensuring accurate data entry.

The role requires strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work to tight timescales. Flexible and hybrid working options are available to fit service needs.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics grades A–C or equivalent, or demonstrable experience.
  • Experience with office administration and data management.
  • Experience using mapping software and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the HDM electronic system (MasterGov) for consultations.
  • Provide MasterGov superuser support including training and access management.
  • Monitor HDM inbox and manage consultations and correspondence.
  • Process invoices and generate management/performance reports.
  • Input and monitor information on planning applications and pre-application enquiries.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planning Technician within the Highway Development Management (HDM) Team at Leicestershire County Council.

  • Maintaining and updating the HDM electronic system (currently MasterGov) for recording, providing and monitoring consultation responses.
  • Providing a superuser role for MasterGov including developing appropriate training manuals, providing appropriate training, representing the team on the corporate working group, liaising with the system provider to maintain and develop the system and managing access rights to the system.
  • Monitoring and managing consultations and correspondence arriving through the HDM generic inbox.
  • Providing administrative support in the provision of the HDM system including processing invoices as appropriate and to provide reports giving management and performance data.
  • Monitoring and reviewing consultations on planning applications and pre-application enquiries and ensuring appropriate information is input onto electronic systems to record and monitor progress. GCSE English Language and Mathematics Grades A - C or equivalent, or relevant demonstrable experience.
  • Use of MS Office programmes and use of mapping software. Experience of working in an office environment
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of information.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales, agreed timescales and be able to manage your own workload.
  • Ability to search and interrogate systems in order to extract relevant information and produce reports.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to problem solve and identify new and efficient ways of working.
