Job summary

Great Bear in Banbury is seeking a Transport Planner to oversee day-to-day transport operation planning. You will work in a busy environment, delivering cost-effective solutions and maintaining high service standards.

The role involves subcontracting, planning orders across UK facilities, liaising with traffic and administration, updating reports, and supporting driver training. Mon-Fri 8:30-17:30, salary up to £35,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy transport department with the ability to provide cost‑effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day transport planning and scheduling across multiple UK facilities.
• Plan daily workload for a fleet of vehicles based on and off site.
• Handle queries by telephone, fax and email from customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
• Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high performance standards.
• Create/update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Support fleet and driver training as required.
• Complete pre and post de-brief for driver shifts.
• Deliver timely internal and external communications.
