Job summary

Culina Group, Great Bear at Harworth, is seeking a Transport Planner to join our busy transport team on a full-time basis. You will oversee day-to-day planning of the transport operation and coordinate with drivers, subcontractors and warehouse sites to deliver reliable, cost-effective service.

You should have proven transport planning experience, strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy transport planning environment.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timescales.
• Flexible approach to peak periods and changing requirements.
• Good communication at all levels and a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to identify improvements for the business and customers.
• Motivated, proactive and able to work independently within a small team.
• Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Subcontracting and planning orders across UK facilities and sites.
• Plan daily workload for a fleet based on and off site.
• Handle queries by telephone, fax and email from customers and hauliers.
• Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high performance.
• Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Report problems and address any arising queries promptly.
• Support the fleet and driver training team as required.
• Complete pre- and post-debriefs for driver shifts.
• Deliver effective internal and external communications.
