Job summary

Menzies Distribution Solutions is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our Planning Centre in Normanton, Wakefield. You will arrange deliveries on time and in full, using the most cost-effective methods while complying with Transport Legislation and Health & Safety.

Key duties include planning all deliveries, liaising with drivers and customers about delays, developing back haul lanes, sourcing agency drivers, and ensuring loads meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy transport office
• Knowledge of drivers hours, tachograph and WTD regulations
• Good general education and IT literacy

Responsibilities

• Plan all relevant customer deliveries ensuring delivery windows are met
• Liaise with drivers regarding delays and possible issues
• Liaise with customers regarding delays and possible issues
• Develop back haul lanes with depots and 3rd party customers
• Source local agency drivers as required and brief them
• Ensure loads meet safety standards and KPI expectations
