Job summary

GXO in Snetterton is seeking a Transport Planner to join a focused team and drive efficient route planning. You will coordinate with customers and drivers, ensuring timely deliveries and compliant routes.

Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm with some flexibility, based at our Snetterton site. You will have hands-on experience in transport planning, strong knowledge of UK geography, and competence with planning tools and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience as Transport Planner or similar role with route planning duties.
• Strong knowledge of UK geography and driver hours rules (WTD).
• Proficient in using a transport planning tool and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide final route plans to warehouse operations within agreed timescales.
• Ensure compliance with EU/UK drivers hours regulations.
• Monitor drivers progress, communicate with customers daily.
• Manage subcontractor costs to stay within agreed rates and resolve queries promptly.

Transport Planner

We’re looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Snetterton. Working within a small team, you will be driving efficiency and reducing cost delivering excellent service to our customer. You’ll be responsible for route planning, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You’ll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.

You’ll work on a Monday - Friday basis, between the hours of 8am to 5pm, however, some flexibility is required.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Provide final route plans to the warehouse operation within the agreed timescale to allow for picking in a timely manner
• Ensure that the legislation regarding EU Drivers hours regulations is being followed
• Deal with customer issues and monitor drivers daily progress, updating the customer as required
• Ensure that the sub-contractor costs are in line with our agreed rates ensuring that the maximum benefit is being secured and that any subcontractor financial queries are resolved in a timely manner

What you need to succeed at GXO

• Experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role, performing route planning with strong geographical knowledge of the UK
• Knowledge of WTD regulations is essential
• Proficient use of Microsoft and experience of using a transport planning tool
• Strong communicator both written and verbal with attention to detail
