Job summary

Vivid Resourcing are recruiting a Transport Planner to join a Nottingham-based consultancy. You will work on a diverse mix of development and infrastructure projects, balancing technical delivery with client-facing responsibilities.

You will contribute from feasibility through to planning submission, collaborating with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams while developing site access strategies and sustainability measures.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a transport planning consultancy or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of development planning and the UK planning system.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and/or Travel Plans.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
• Comfortable communicating with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• A relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline is desirable.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards membership, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Providing transport planning advice for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
• Undertaking development feasibility and transport strategy work
• Supporting the preparation of planning applications and associated technical reports
• Carrying out junction and network assessments, including traffic modelling where required
• Liaising with local authorities, clients and other project stakeholders
• Contributing to masterplanning and site access strategies
• Supporting the development and delivery of sustainable and active travel solutions
• Assisting with the management of projects, programmes and client relationships
• Working collaboratively with wider multidisciplinary teams
