Job summary

Stantec in Cambridge is seeking a Transport Planner to join our busy Transport Planning team on a permanent basis. You'll work on a diverse range of projects from strategic land promotion through to infrastructure delivery, active travel initiatives and public sector commissions, collaborating with engineers, planners and environmental specialists.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Transport Planning, Geography, Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with the UK planning system and transport planning.
• Experience preparing TA/TS/Travel Plans.
• Experience supporting development planning projects (residential/commercial/mixed-use).
• Interest or experience in public sector transport/infrastructure projects.
• Experience using transport planning/modelling software.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting project budget and quality management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
• Supporting transport studies, feasibility assessments, and technical analysis.
• Undertaking junction modelling, capacity assessments, and transport analysis.
• Supporting delivery of strategic land development and public sector projects.
• Assisting with project budget, programme, and quality management.
• Liaising with clients, multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, statutory bodies, and the public.
• Contributing to technical reports and planning documentation.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members.
