Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd. seeks a Transport Planner in Cambridge to lead small to medium transport planning projects, applying policy guidance and local planning regulations.

You will collaborate with clients, Local Highway Authorities, and project teams to deliver robust solutions from feasibility through design. The role requires at least 2 years in transport planning, proficiency in AutoCAD, TRICS, and transport modelling software, and strong report-writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ideally working towards membership of a relevant professional organisation.
• At least 2 years’ experience in transport planning.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, TRICS, and transport modelling software.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports such as Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and Access Appraisals.
• Experience managing small to medium projects, including budget and time management.
• Experience working with Local Authorities, architects, and planners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver small to medium transport planning projects, including budget and time management.
• Prepare, review, and occasionally approve technical reports such as Transport Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, and Access Appraisals.
• Prepare more detailed reports, including Transport Assessments and Modelling Notes.
• Attend and contribute to project team, client, Local Highway Authority, and public consultation meetings.
• Identify and propose mitigation measures to address highway capacity and active travel issues.
• Liaise with clients, planners, architects, and highway officers, maintaining professional relationships.
