Job summary

Kinaxia Logistics Limited is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our busy Norwich operation. You will plan daily collections and deliveries, optimise fleet utilisation and ensure high service levels for customers.

You will work with TMS and internal systems, liaise with Workshop for vehicle availability, and coordinate drivers and agency staff as required, delivering efficient, cost-effective transport solutions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics planning role.
• Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation (Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations, Tachograph Rules).
• Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily collection and delivery schedules using the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
• Maximise fleet utilisation by allocating drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively while meeting customer requirements.
• Use Transport Management Systems (TMS), customer portals and internal IT systems to manage transport operations efficiently.
• Liaise closely with the Workshop to ensure vehicle and trailer availability, incorporating maintenance schedules into operational plans.
• Communicate daily transport plans clearly to drivers and the wider transport team to ensure efficient execution.
• Manage staffing levels, including agency drivers where required, to ensure customer commitments are consistently met.
• Build strong relationships with customers, communicating proactively regarding schedules, delays and operational updates.
• Plan and coordinate next-day operations, process customer bookings and provide transport quotations where required.
• Support colleagues through cross-training and provide operational cover when necessary.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
