Job summary

JDRWales is seeking a proactive Transport Planner to join the busy Transport team in Baglan, Port Talbot. The role offers a competitive salary and full-time hours, with a pattern from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

In this role you will coordinate day-to-day transport operations, liaising with providers and internal teams to ensure efficient, high-standard deliveries. Strong admin, planning and communication skills are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transport, logistics or shipping is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• The ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
• Good IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Organise transport bookings to ensure goods are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Liaise with transport providers and internal departments regarding deliveries and transport queries.
• Check logistics supplier invoices and process credit and debit notes.
• Support the Transport Office Supervisor with supplier performance monitoring and service quality.
• Provide administrative support across distribution and logistics activities.
• Ensure transport processes comply with company procedures and policies.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout transport operations.
