Job summary

Menzies Distribution Solutions is seeking a Transport Co-ordinator in Ellesmere Port to plan deliveries, manage driver movements and liaise with customers to resolve issues, ensuring on-time performance and efficiency across the fleet.

You will work with subcontractors and local drivers, maintain safety standards, monitor documentation, and ensure compliance with drivers hours and WTD regulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy Transport office.
• Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement.
• Good standard of education.
• IT literate.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Commercial understanding.
• Knowledge of transport systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan all relevant customer deliveries using the site software to meet delivery windows.
• Liaise with the Driver about delays and issues with delivery.
• Liaise with the Customer about delays and issues with delivery.
• Source local agency drivers as required with a clear job brief.
• Answer and respond to all incoming calls promptly and politely.
• Source local subcontractors as needed.
• Monitor and chase documentation for the transport operation.
• Complete load reports in line with requirements and deadlines.
• Ensure loads meet safety standards.
• Manage Drivers to adhere to start times.
• Handle absence management and disciplinary processes.
• Brief and debrief Drivers to ensure instructions and documentation are correct.
• Ensure WTD compliance.
• Download Driver cards for analysis.
• Comply with transport legislation and reduce tachograph infringements.
• Conduct regular meetings and probation reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist.
• Communicate routes with other Menzies Depots.
• Administer run shifts and keep KPI awareness.
