Job summary

WSP is expanding its Transport & Mobility team in the UK, seeking Transport Planners and related roles in Bristol and across the UK. The role involves leading on a variety of transport planning projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and engaging with Local Authority clients to develop transport strategies and business cases.

You will contribute to delivering transport statements and travel plans, while supporting client relationships and project delivery from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in active travel, public transport and transport project development.
• Experience developing transport-focused strategies, plans and policies.
• Experience with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients.
• Experience managing transport assessments and strategies for major projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to present and liaise with audiences including colleagues and officials.
• Commercial acumen and ability to support the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead on transport planning projects and proposals (technical and commercial inputs).
• Lead multi-disciplinary tasks and collaborate with other WSP specialists to deliver projects from concept to delivery.
• Support in securing and delivering work for local clients.
• Undertake Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters, Construction Traffic Management Plans and Travel Plans, including scoping discussions.
• Lead technical discussions on site accessibility for multiple modes and mitigations for planning approvals.
• Lead technical review and checking of team deliverables.
• Work in a collaborative client/consultant environment, upholding WSP values.
• Contribute to WSP's four pillars and support Leads.
