Job summary

WSP's Transport & Mobility team is seeking Transport Planners to join a growing practice across the UK. You will lead on a range of transport planning projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to business development and client engagement across Local Authority and public sector clients.

You will develop transport-focused strategies and participate in scoping discussions, assessments and travel plans while upholding WSP's standards and values.

Qualifications

• Experience in active travel, public transport, transport programme/scheme development and/or business case development.
• Experience of developing transport-focused strategies, plans and policies.
• Experience of working with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients.
• Experience in managing and coordinating all aspects of transport assessments and strategies for major and/or complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead on a variety of Transport Planning projects and proposals (technical and commercial inputs).
• Lead and manage tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other WSP specialists to deliver projects from concept to delivery.
• Provide support in securing and delivering work for a diverse local client portfolio.
• Undertake Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Environmental Statement Transport Chapters, Construction Traffic Management Plans and Travel Plans, including client and Local Authority scoping discussions.
• Lead technical discussions around site accessibility for various modes and mitigations for planning approvals.
• Lead technical reviews and checks of deliverables within the team.
• Collaborate with clients and consultants, representing WSP values in delivery.
• Contribute to WSP's pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; Technical Excellence) and support Leads.
