Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) is seeking a Transport Planner to join the transport team. You will oversee day-to-day planning for the transport operation, working in a fast-paced environment and delivering effective transport plans.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 07:00–17:00 with a salary of £35,000 per annum. You will coordinate with Transport and Warehouse teams, manage subcontracting, fleet workload, and KPI targets while supporting continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous Transport Planning experience.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK
• Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook
• CPC Desirable but not required
• Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots
• Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
• Customer focus on delivery performance
• Commercially and Financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
• Experience of using a TMS system
• Experience in an FMCG environment
• Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas

Responsibilities

• Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
• Planning collections per day on a time critical basis

• Proactively look for continuous improvements
• Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
• Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year

Job Description

As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.

Working on a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 07.00-17.00

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Key Duties of a Night Transport Planner
