Culina is the UK’s leading independent specialist supply chain partner. We are looking for a Transport Planner to manage day-to-day transport operations in a busy Contract division. The role offers a £32,000 annual salary and standard Monday–Friday hours (10:00–18:00).

You will coordinate subcontracting, plan fleet workloads and liaise with multiple teams to ensure high performance and cost-effective solutions for customers.

• Maintain, create and update spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Report problems and resolve queries; support fleet and driver training when needed.
• Complete pre- and post-debriefs for driver shifts.
• Deliver professional internal and external communications.

As part of our, Contract division, we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Transport Planner on a full time permanent basis!

Salary:£32,000 per annum.

Working hours:Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.

As a Transport Planner you willoverseethe day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:

• Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
• Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site.
• Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
• Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
• Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
• Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
• Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
• Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.

Qualifications

What you’ll need ...

• Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
• Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
• Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
• Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
• Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
• Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
• Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
