Job summary

Great Bear is recruiting a Transport Planner for our Lutterworth site on a full-time basis. You will oversee day-to-day transport planning, coordinating a busy fleet, subcontractors and customer queries to deliver cost-effective solutions.

We require experience in a busy transport environment, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. SAP, BPCS and Road Runner knowledge would be advantageous. 4 on 4 off shifts 6am-6pm with a salary of £33,591.

Responsibilities

• Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
• Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site.
• Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
• Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure high performance.
• Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
• Reporting problems and dealing with issues and queries that arise.
• Support the fleet and driver training team as required.
• Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
• Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.

Job description

Due to continued growth, our Lutterworth site are now recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our friendly team on a full time permanent basis.

Salary: £33,591 per annum.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.

As the Transport Planner, you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.

Key Duties of a Transport Planner:

• Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.

• Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
• Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
• Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
• Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
• Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the company and our customer.
• Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
• Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
