Job summary

TLP, based near Leeds, is hiring a Transport Planner to coordinate a national network across warehousing, storage and 3PL logistics. You will plan routes, allocate drivers and vehicles, and ensure deliveries run safely, on time and efficiently.

The role offers full-time days, with 45 hours per week, and benefits including 28 days holiday, healthcare, pension and on-site parking. Experience with Mandata TMS is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience in a Transport Planner or Transport Coordinator role.
• Experience planning routes for HGV/LGV fleets.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Living within commuting distance of Yeadon, Leeds.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily transport operations for a fleet of 40 HGV vehicles.
• Route planning and vehicle scheduling to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Allocate drivers and vehicles based on load requirements and availability.
• Use TMS (Transport Management Systems) and GPS tracking to monitor vehicle movements.
• Create and issue driver manifests, delivery schedules and transport documentation.
• Track deliveries and provide progress updates to internal teams and customers.
• Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, customer service, hauliers and 3PL partners.
• Conduct driver briefs and debriefs.
• Input and maintain accurate transport data and operational records.
• Identify performance trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday, 45 hours per week, alternating shifts between 6am and 7pm

Experienced Transport Planner (General Haulage) required to join a leading haulage company in Leeds and coordinate daily fleet operations. This role supports a national distribution network covering warehousing, storage and 3PL logistics.

You will plan routes, allocate vehicles and drivers, and ensure deliveries run efficiently, safely and on time.
