Job summary

Brook Street Recruitment, partnering with a leading Belfast-based client, seeks an experienced Transport Planner to coordinate daily transport activities and driver schedules, ensuring efficient operations and excellent customer service.

You will work in a fast-paced logistics environment, handle planning, and ensure compliance with EU regulations and company policies while driving continuous improvement across the transport function.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in transport operations or planning.
• Knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours, Tachograph Regulations, and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily driver schedules and route allocations.
• Respond swiftly to additional customer requirements and incorporate new orders into existing schedules.
• Coordinate driver and vehicle deployment to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Monitor driver performance, recognising excellence and supporting continuous improvement.
• Ensure all transport operations are carried out in line with legal, environmental, and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of customer service while liaising with drivers, customers, and third-party stakeholders.
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the transport operation.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, managing driver schedules, and ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily driver schedules and route allocations.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Transport Planning or Transport Operations role.
• Strong knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours, Tachograph Regulations, and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK and Ireland.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year's experience within Transport Operations or Transport Planning preferred.
