Transport Planner - Day Shift

Schedule: 4 on / 4 off, Monday to Friday (hours between 6am and 6pm), occasional Saturdays

Location: Ashford, Kent outskirts

Role Overview

This Transport Planner role involves planning UK road freight routes for over 20 refrigerated trucks:

• Maximising load efficiency through excellent geographical planning
• Planning efficient routes
• Updating client and order information onto Cargowise
• Collaborating with colleagues in Kent and Heathrow
• Providing excellent customer service
• Liaising with clients regarding road freight bookings and resolving issues

Responsibilities

Ensure efficient transport planning processes to meet delivery schedules and customer expectations. Manage order data, optimise fleet utilization, source backloads, and minimise empty mileage to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of the UK road network
• Strong understanding of Working Time Directives and EU Drivers Hours
• Proficient IT skills for planning, editing, reporting, and data management

Compensation

GBP 35,000 - 38,000 depending on experience
