Job summary

CML is seeking a Transport Operations Support to provide essential administration within the Transport Department. The role involves debriefing drivers, managing PODs, and updating dispatch records while supporting daily operations across shifts.

Typical duties include handling driver paperwork, scanning documents, and maintaining accurate spreadsheets. The candidate will communicate ETA updates and assist customer services as needed.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy required.

• Good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide general administration support to the Transport Department.
• Debrief drivers and check timesheets and PODs.
• Scan and store PODs in the document management system.
• Prepare drivers’ wallets and issue delivery notes in dispatch order.
• Print despatch notes and replenish paper.
• Answer phone and handle enquiries.
• Download drivers’ cards / tachographs.
• Communicate ETAs to Customer Services.
• Update spreadsheets (change-overs, run summaries, trailer checks).
• Process loads using Transport Management System (TMS).
• Ensure uplifts are dispatched in correct loads.

Job Description

Reporting into the Transport Shift Manager, the Transport Operations Support will provide general administration support to the Transport Department.

Salary: £27,119.42

Shift: 4 on 4 off nights, 6pm - 6am

Key Duties of Transport Operations Support:

• Correctly debriefing drivers
• Checking all timesheets for correct completion and ensuring all PODs are returned completed correctly
• Scanning and storing PODs using Culina’s document management system
• Preparing drivers’ wallets and issuing delivery notes in drop sequence plus any other relevant delivery information
• Printing all despatch notes and replenishing despatch paper as required
• Answering the telephone and assisting with any enquiries
• Downloading drivers’ cards / tachographs
• Ensuring all estimated time of arrivals (ETAs) are communicated to Customer Services
• Consistently updating all spreadsheets including, but not limited to; change-overs, run summaries and trailer check sheets
• Departing loads using Transport Management System (TMS)
• Ensuring all uplifts are despatched in correct loads
