Job summary

Gist Limited, part of the M&S Group, is recruiting two Transport Coordinators for Bedworth. The role covers night shifts and early shifts, coordinating night transport, supporting drivers and the Transport Shift Manager to keep deliveries on time and compliant.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and efficiency, with opportunities to develop leadership and customer service skills in a key logistics operation.

Qualifications

• Experience working within a transport, logistics or distribution operation.
• Previous experience in a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Transport Planner or similar role.
• Confident to communicate with drivers, allocate work and make operational decisions.
• Ideally supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Kronos.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and Operator Licence requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate night transport operation to ensure vehicles and drivers are dispatched safely and on time.
• Act as first point of contact for drivers, provide support and escalate issues as needed.
• Brief and debrief drivers with accurate operational information.
• Monitor live routes, respond to delays and support service recovery.
• Assist Shift Manager with day-to-day running of transport operation.
• Manage driver allocation and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Support return-to-work conversations and driver supervision.
• Maintain Operator Licence compliance and transport documentation.
• Perform payroll administration and transport office tasks accurately.
• Collaborate with Transport, Warehouse and Planning teams for seamless operations.
