Job summary

Gist Limited is seeking a Transport Coordinator to join the Faversham night shift. You will coordinate the night transport operation, dispatch drivers, and ensure deliveries run safely and on schedule.

Reporting to the Transport Shift Manager, you will lead on-shift activity, manage driver allocations, and maintain compliance while ensuring payroll and transport documentation are accurately completed.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a transport, logistics or distribution operation.
• Previous experience in a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Transport Planner or similar role.
• Confidence to communicate with drivers, allocate work and make operational decisions.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience, including supporting driver performance or return-to-work conversations.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Kronos.
• Knowledge of transport compliance and Operator Licence requirements would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the night transport operation to dispatch vehicles and drivers safely and on time.
• Act as the first point of contact for drivers, providing support and resolving issues.
• Brief and debrief drivers with accurate operational information.
• Monitor live routes and respond to delays to support service recovery.
• Support the Shift Manager with day-to-day transport operations.
