Job summary

Jones Bros Ltd in Denbigh, North Wales seeks an experienced Transport Manager to lead a fleet of 30+ HGVs, ensuring safe, compliant transport for major UK projects. You will manage driver performance, licensing, maintenance and cost controls while coordinating planning across operations to maximise fleet availability.

Applicants should hold a National/International Transport Manager CPC, a full UK licence, and proven experience managing an HGV operation with strong regulatory and maintenance

Qualifications

• National or International Transport Manager CPC.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience managing an HGV transport operation.
• Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance, driver hours regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Experience managing drivers and transport personnel.
• Knowledge of STGO regulations and plant transportation.
• Proficiency in transport management systems and EXCEL.
• Commercial skills to analyse fleet financial performance.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
• Proactive approach to compliance, safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day operation of a fleet of over 30 HGV vehicles.
• Planning and coordinating efficient daily transport activities.
• Ensuring compliance with Operator Licence, DVSA regulations, tachographs and driver hours legislation.
• Monitoring driver performance and arranging holiday cover.
• Coordinating vehicle servicing and six weekly inspections.
• Overseeing movement of heavy plant and machinery with STGO compliance.
• Maintaining accurate transport, compliance and audit records.
• Managing Driver CPC requirements across the fleet.
• Working with transport, operational and service teams to maximise fleet efficiency.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
• Analyzing fleet financial performance and truck utilisation weekly.
