Job summary

Kinaxia are looking for a Transport Manager to join our team at our site in Colchester. The successful candidate will to ensure 100% compliance with legal and operator licensing requirements, while leading and developing a safe, accountable, and high-performing staff culture.

The role includes overseeing regulatory compliance, FORS accreditation, drivers hours, SSOW, and H&S excellence, plus KPI monitoring, reporting and policy enforcement to drive operational efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) required.
• IOSH certification desired.
• EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations and Road Transport Regulations knowledge.
• General Haulage, Pallet Network familiarity.
• Commercial awareness and Health and Safety regulations knowledge.
• 5+ years transport management experience.
• Managing and developing a team of employees.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance & Standards: ensure CPC holder status and DVSA compliance.
• FORS Accreditation: maintain and audit standards.
• Drivers' Hours & WTD: oversee tachograph compliance.
• Safe Systems of Work: design and review risk assessments and SSOW.
• Health & Safety Excellence: champion H&S throughout the department.
• Staff Performance & Culture: manage appraisals, attendance and HR procedures.
• KPI Monitoring & Reporting: track KPIs and provide reports to leadership.
• Policies & Procedures: write and enforce transport SOPs and audit readiness.
