Job Description

Key Responsibilities of the Transport Manager:

• Manage a large, modern fleet for a high value retail contract.
• Oversee transport operations for a 1.5 million square foot distribution centre.
• Ensure high standards of service and efficiency.
• Ensure O'Licence compliance in all areas of operation.
• Provide a high level of accuracy in all information presented.
• Manage and work closely with an existing team.
• Oversee all aspects of maintenance, ensuring the vehicles are compliant and well presented.
• Carry out driver training where required.
• Focus on ensuring we retain our high levels of service to customers.
• Communicate with staff and customers.
• Develop and implement transportation strategies and policies to optimise efficiency and reduce costs.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Valid O' License.
• Proven experience of managing large transport fleets.
• A confident and skilled communicator up to senior management level.
• A general mechanical understanding of fleet vehicles.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Transport Manager should have:

• An educational background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Experience in transport management within the Transport & Distribution industry.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
