The main responsibility of the role is to direct and oversee transport operations and procedures, leading and coaching the transport colleagues to deliver an outstanding service to customers and exceeding business objectives.

The role requirements involve:

• Effectively manage the day-to-day operational performance, coordinating work and responsibilities to ensure excellent service delivery and legislative compliance.
• Manage the planning operation to meet productivity, safety and cost targets whilst ensuring optimum customer satisfaction.
• Control the workflow of others by giving orders, directions and guidance to team members to ensure work meets deadlines, volume and quality standards are met.
• Monitor, check and inspect team member work standards, and productivity levels to deliver individual and team competence, providing constructive feedback and coaching where necessary.
• Ensure that all fleet vehicles and team members are compliant with all legal, regulatory and contractual compliance, including drivers hours and Working Time Directive.
• Assist with business development and customer account management by being a positive and proactive point of contact, dealing with and resolving issues, concerns, problems, and complaints in an efficient and effective way.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a transport management.
• Previous experience in the use of standard I.T systems, to include Microsoft packages.
• Be highly organised and efficient, with a keen eye for detail.
