Job summary

dnata at Heathrow Airport, Greater London, is seeking a Transport Manager (Compliance) to ensure regulatory, legal and company requirements are met across the transport operation. You will drive a culture of compliance, safety and accountability, reporting to the Head of Fleet UK and guiding teams through policy implementation.

You will own fleet compliance and utilisation, coordinate with regulators and airport authorities, lead safety investigations, and coach managers to achieve KPIs and SLAs

Qualifications

• Must hold a CPC and be named on the Operator Licence with responsibility for compliance.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and Operator Licence requirements.
• Experience in fleet operations within regulated or safety-critical environments.
• Proven leadership and people management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Transport Manager (Compliance) Keep the wheels turning, safely, legally and brilliantly. Do you thrive where safety, compliance and operational excellence come first? Then this could be the role for you. As our Transport Manager, you'll take ownership of making sure every part of our transport operation meets its regulatory, legal and company requirements, and you'll drive performance and continuous improvement along the way. The role Reporting to the Head of Fleet UK, you'll be the driving force behind a culture of compliance, safety and accountability. You'll make sure our transport policies, procedures and legislative requirements aren't just understood, but applied consistently, every day, across the operation.

What you’ll do

• Own fleet compliance and utilisation: make sure every vehicle is properly maintained, fully documented and audit-ready, in line with Operator Licence standards.
• Drive performance: work with the Transport management team, training team and senior leadership to review daily transport plans, improve performance against KPIs and SLAs, and put corrective actions in place where needed.
• Be the trusted voice: act as a key point of contact for regulatory bodies, customers and airport authorities, ensuring full compliance with all relevant by-laws and Department for Transport regulations.
• Champion safety: lead on health & safety, manage incident investigations and promote safe working practices, building a proactive, safety-first culture across every team.
• Lead from the front: coach, influence and support your teams, set high standards, and bring your voice to a collaborative management environment.

What we're looking for

You bring a strong background in transport compliance, fleet operations and safety-driven environments, and the confidence to manage stakeholders and lead change in a fast-paced setting.

Essential

• Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Must be named on the Operator Licence and accept responsibility for supporting and maintaining Operator Licence compliance
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, compliance and Operator Licence requirements
• Strong understanding of policies and procedures that reflect current legislation
• Experience in fleet operations, ideally within a regulated or safety-critical environment working within the working time directive
• Strong knowledge of maintenance standards, and handling maintenance schedules
• Proven leadership and people management capability, with the ability to coach and drive performance
• Experience conducting investigations and disciplinaries in line with HR policies
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders, regulators and operational teams
• Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Experience managing a large transport fleet
