Company Overview:

Loom Talent has been exclusively appointed to fill a Transport Manager vacancy at a leading FMCG company, due to their rapid growth at their flagship site in Bedfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

1. People-Centric Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of approximately 80 colleagues, focusing on their well-being and development, fostering a continuous improvement mindset.
2. Health & Safety: Maintain high health and safety standards, promoting safety awareness and accident reduction through ongoing training and assessments.
3. Performance Metrics: Evolve KPI strategies, ensure site standardization, and manage daily fleet operations in line with legal and company standards, providing excellent customer service.
4. Performance Management: Manage performance issues, conduct probation reviews, return-to-work procedures, PDPs, annual reviews, and disciplinary actions.
5. TMS Expertise: Use Transport Management Systems and business systems to enhance operational efficiency.
6. Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth logistics from warehouse to customer.

Key Candidate Requirements:

• Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain experience - Essential.
• Transport Management CPC qualification - Essential.
• Experience in FMCG sector - Advantageous.
• Minimum 5+ years at a Transport Manager or Operations Manager level - Essential.
• Experience managing teams of over 80 employees/drivers - Essential.
• Strong leadership and people management skills - Essential.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement methodologies - Advantageous.
• Proficiency with TMS systems - Essential.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Essential.
• Ability to commute to Bedfordshire 5 days a week - Essential.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: £48,000 to £50,000 (dependent on experience).
