Job summary

Movianto UK is seeking a Transport Manager based at the Haydock site to lead operational delivery and account management for government contracts. The role runs Monday to Friday (37.5 hours) with an annual salary of £34,938.83.

You will drive programme execution, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure efficient operation across depots, with strong focus on compliance, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK driving licence and have a working knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Job description

As the Transport Manager you will be responsible for the operational leadership and account management of a key sector in our Government Contracts business unit.

You will be based at our

Haydock site, and will be working Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) on a annual salary of £34,938.83 per annum.

Purpose of the role

The focus of the role is to lead programme execution, through operational and account management, supporting the BAU Heads of Network and Senior Operations Programme Manager in the initiation, scope, management and delivery of all activity within the business area. Leadership will range from driving day-to-day operational delivery, including delivering operational efficiencies and localised developments, through to the innovation of solutions, seamless client implementations and transformation projects.

The role is key in developing stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally, likewise in developing best practice and continuous improvement, with strong financial oversight, providing insight to drive performance and enable the business to make key decisions.

How you'll make an impact as a Transport Manager at Movianto:

• Support the Operational leadership by driving programmes of activity through key working streams, supporting and mentoring team members to achieve programme goals.
• Working across stakeholder groups in building and maintaining key business relationships.
• Lead and operate effective, multi-functional and diverse internal and external teams to deliver business unit programmes and associated projects, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Own targets and manage cross-functional activity to ensure end-to-end delivery.
• Understand budgets, resources and progress, demonstrating that the programme team are fully engaged, performing to our customer requirements, and that programme risks are mitigated.
• Support investigation and resolution of non-compliance, ensuing both recovery and ongoing resolution, maintaining end-delivery performance.
• Collating and reporting information for Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly meeting cycles with client groups, delivering programme progress, financial and service period results and transformation pipeline, whilst building an open and transparent partnership.
• Support the Senior Operations Programme Manager and NHSE Programme Manager in the analysis and development of strategy.
• Liaise with depots and departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in the 'on call' rota.
• Participate in internal audits in person to each site within the MOV Network
• Liaise with Fleet team to ensure smooth delivery of Fleet procurement/dehires

What it will take to thrive as a Transport Manager at Movianto:

• Must be a UK Driving Licence Holder
• Working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation relevant to the workplace
• Articulate, numerate and computer literate including the use of Microsoft packages and transport operational system
• CPC or an advanced knowledge of transport legislation
• Demonstrable leadership experience and skills
• Experience in Pharmaceutical and multi temperature logistics
• Experience in fleet procurements
• Experienced approach to prioritisation of daily tasks and keeping a cool head under pressure
• Engages in collaboration with team members and stakeholders to refine and implement innovative solutions.
• Collaborates with the team to enhance the overall client experience.
• Ensure context and information is provided to teammates, to give a timely response to queries and suggestions.
