Job summary

Chaucer Syndicates Ltd. in London seeks a Head of Marine – Transport Logistics to lead the TL underwriting strategy, develop the business plan and mentor the TL underwriting team. You will drive growth by expanding geographically and refining the product mix.

You will own the TL class underwrite activities with Head of Marine, setting the strategy for Chaucer's TL business and coordinating closely with global hubs. This role requires strong leadership, market insight and Lloyd's knowledge.

Qualifications

• Significant marine underwriting experience and leadership of the TL (Transport Logistics) underwriting.
• Experience negotiating with brokers and liaising with clients.
• Understanding of actuarial rating process and business planning.
• Understanding of Lloyd's regulations and Byelaws.

Responsibilities

• Lead TL team strategy, client and broker distribution plan to establish Chaucer's global TL leadership position.
• Develop long-term TL strategy across Chaucer hubs and present Business Plans for approval by Underwriting management.
• Ensure TL underwriting adheres to Business Plans, Syndicate Guidelines & Compliance.
