Job summary

GRS in Wakefield is seeking a self-motivated logistics professional to join our fast-paced team. You will coordinate daily acceptance and distribution of materials, schedule deliveries, liaise with customers and haulage providers, and ensure orders are fulfilled on time.

Responsibilities

• Establishing the customers' needs.
• Establishing the timing of delivery.
• Establishing the flexibility of delivery from the customer.
• Establish the program of that customer by day, week or month. Laying off orders by sources and by hauliers.
• Liaison with customers and sources on programmed deliveries and adjust DOC as needed.
• Regular contact with the customer to advise of potential problems or delays.
• Problem solving with haulage and source of material on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintain a site contract name and telephone number.
• Follow up with site to secure next day's requirement.
• Establish a preferential haulage list based on performance.
• Locate new haulage contractors.
• Liaise with management on site problems.
• Identify opportunities to increase profitability and efficiency and report to line manager/sales person.
• Ensure compliance with HR and Health & Safety responsibilities to promote a safe and legally compliant workplace.
