Job Description:

Transport Fleet Compliance Officer – 2 Years Experience Required – Southport – Permanent Role

Salary: £30,000

Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00 (1 Hour Lunch)

Silver Arrow require a Transport Fleet Compliance Officer to work for our client based in the Southport area. This client specialises in providing efficient and reliable waste management solutions, tailored specifically to garages of all sizes. They offer comprehensive services to collect, recycle, and safely dispose of various waste materials throughout the UK.

Your Role:
  1. Coordinate transport operations
  2. Ensure that all maintenance bookings are scheduled & planned
  3. Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations
  4. Maintenance of transport documentation such as driver hours, defect reporting, and tachographs in line with CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) requirements.
  5. Monitor and arrange vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs to ensure the fleet is roadworthy and compliant with legal standards.
  6. Ensure that all transport activities adhere to company health and safety policies, and proactively identify and report any risks or issues.
  7. Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports on fleet performance, fuel usage, and transport costs to support senior management.
  8. Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing them with support and information regarding maintenance schedules, breakdown assistance and compliance queries.
  9. Liaise with internal teams and external customers to provide accurate updates on delivery schedules and address any issues that may arise.
  10. Carry out investigations with drivers on any accidents, spillages etc to assist the Transport Manager with any disciplinary requirements.
  11. Create PO numbers for all maintenance spend.

What we need from you:
  1. Proven experience in transport Fleet administration and compliance.
  2. Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  3. Knowledge of UK transport regulations, including tachograph and WTD compliance.
  4. Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in compliance records.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transport management systems.
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Experience in using SAGE 200 would be advantageous but not necessary.
  8. A Transport Management CPC would be advantageous
